Introduction:

The Government of Karnataka has formed the Department of Cooperation. The Registrar of Cooperative societies is the Head of the Department. The office suituated at No.1, Ali Askar Road Bangalore-52. At Divisional level. The Joint Registrar   of Co-operative societies Bangalore Region, chamarajpet, Bangalore-18, at district level. The  Deputy Registrar of Co-opearative societies, Tumakuru District Mini vidhana Soudha, 2nd floor, Room No. 305, Tumakuru and in Sub-Division level. The Assistant Registrar of Co-operative societies Tumakuru, Tiptur and Madhugiri and in Taluk level. The Co.operative Development officers are working

Objectives & Vision :

Releasing the admdinistrative grants to co-operative societies and souharda co-operatives

The Registration of the Cooperative Societies and souhardha Cooperatives. Further the Department has to taken action to cancel the Registrataion certificates of the defunct and liquidation society.

Programmes & Schemes:

Helping the members of the society by providing co-operative loans through the society. Providing “Yashaswini” Health Scheme. Issuing licence to Pawn brokers and Financial institutions and collection of unpaid loans legally from the members of the society. Providing State government grants to enrol the women’s as members in the Cooperative society through Zilla panchayath in district level programmes providing principle shares to Agricultural co-operative societies through develop their business and providing loans to repair godown of agricultural co-operative societies,providing 60% subsidies to the SC  members in Loan advanced by “PCARD” bank at  Taluk panchayath scheme. Cooperative institutions shave not issued loans  in cash to any persons and all the loans will be disbursed through cheques only

Department Statistics:

As on 31-8-2014 there are total 1898 Cooperative societies and souhardha co-operative societies are working in Tumakuru district out of this 234 Agricultural co-operative societies, 23co-oprative banks, 1070 Milk producers co-operative societies, 432 other co-oprative societies and 139 souhardha co-operative societies are working.

YASHASWINI HEALTH AND SECURITY SCHEME

Under this scheme alredy registred 1, 65,250 member as against 2,70,000 target for the year 2014-15. Remaining members will be registred in due course. 4180 members have claimed the benefit under this scheme of Rs. 481.00 lakhs from the state  Government.

Milk producers scheme

The Government has issued 4% as a incentive fund to milk producers
