Introduction:
The Government of Karnataka has constituted a Cooperative Department. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies is the Head of the Department. The office is located at 1st Floor, Ali Oscar Road, Bangalore-52. At the Divisional Level. The Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Bangalore Area, District, Chamaraja, Bangalore-18. Objectives and Vision:
Advertisement management grant is being released to Cooperative Societies and Friendly Cooperative Societies. Registration of Cooperative Societies and Friendly Cooperatives. Further the Department shall take steps to cancel the registration certificates of inactive and insolvent societies.
Programs and Schemes:
To help the members of the society by providing cooperative loans through the society. To provide “Yashashini” health scheme. To legally license the members of the society for collection of loans paid by pawn brokers and financial institutions. To provide State Government grants for joining women members in cooperative society through Zilla Panchayat To develop the business by providing their basic shares to cooperative societies and to provide loans for repairing the godowns of agricultural cooperative societies 60% subsidy to SC members who have taken loan from “Pisard” bank under Taluk Panchayat scheme. No cash loan is given to any individual to cooperative societies and all the loans are disbursed only through cheques.
Department Statistics:
As on 31-8-2014, a total of 1898 cooperative societies and friendly cooperative societies are working in Tumkur district out of which 234 agricultural cooperative societies are working in these societies, 23 coastal banks, 1070 milk producers’ cooperative societies, 432 cooperative societies. -Free Societies and 139 Friendly Cooperative Societies are functioning.
Yeshasvini Health and Security Scheme:
Under this scheme, already 1, 65,250 members have been enrolled with a target of 2,70,000 in 2014-15. The remaining members will be enrolled from time to time. There are 4180 members under this scheme. Rs. 481.00 lakhs from the State Government.
Milk Producers Scheme:
Government has implemented 4% as incentive fund for milk producers
