Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS)
Ministry of Power, Government of India vide OM No 26/1/2014-APDRP dated 03.12.2014 has conveyed the sanction for launch/implementation of Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) with the following components:
- Strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution networks in the urban areas;
- Metering of distribution transformers/feeders/consumers in the urban areas.
- IT enablement of distribution sector and strengthening of distribution network, as per CCEA approval dated 21.06.2013 for completion of the targets laid down under R-APDRP for 12th and 13th Plans by carrying forward the approved outlay for R-APDRP to IPDS.
The Monitoring Committee of Ministry of Power has approved the projects under IPDS for the State of Karnataka amounting to Rs. 1144.45 crores. The ESCOM-wise details are as below

Benefits:
The scheme will help in reduction in AT&C losses, establishment of IT enabled energy accounting / auditing system, improvement in billed energy based on metered consumption and improvement in collection efficiency.
